startupOSA LITTLE CLARITY

Privacy, in plain language.

Last updated: October 23, 2026. This page describes the startupOS download and founding-access website. The desktop app and optional cloud workspace have separate data boundaries.

What this website saves

If you join the founding list, we save the email address you enter, your preferred plan, your computer platform, the time of your request and a record of your consent. These records are stored in the website’s hosted database and are available to the startupOS site owner for managing founding access.

We use these details to understand platform and plan interest and to contact you about startupOS access. Joining does not create a paid account, charge you, reserve a price or trigger an automated email.

Downloading the desktop app

Before a download, we ask for your email address, chosen platform and how you heard about startupOS, including any “Other” detail you provide. We save these details, submission times and the privacy notice version in a separate website database table. The site owner uses them to provide download access and understand interest and referral sources. This does not subscribe you to marketing or the founding list, start a payment, or send an automatic email.

After submission, we set an essential, HTTP-only download cookie for 24 hours. It contains a random access token, not your email address. This lets the website check your download access. Only a hash of that token is stored in the database. Your email address is self-reported; the form does not verify email ownership.

The confirmation shows a private management link. Keep it to remove your email and referral details from the active download database and revoke that download session. It cannot reveal those details. Records remain until you remove them or the owner closes the preview programme. Removing a record does not affect your installed desktop app. Provider backups and operational logs may have separate retention periods.

Your founding request is under your control

After submitting, you receive a private management link. Keep or bookmark that link to remove the request from the active sign-up database. It is a secret link: anyone with it can correct or remove that request, but cannot read your email or other request details. Each separate submission has its own link.

Requests remain in the active list until you remove them or the owner closes the founding-access list. Hosting providers may retain operational logs or backups according to their own policies; removal from this form does not promise immediate deletion from those systems.

Local preview preferences

The full-screen web app preview uses fictional company data. Its layout changes and appearance choices stay in page memory and reset on reload. It does not save company records, run AI requests, upload files or connect accounts. It is separate from your desktop and cloud workspaces.

The “Save this preview” button stores only your chosen demo layout and theme in this browser’s local storage. It does not create a company workspace or send that layout to an AI model. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes the preference.

Hosting and abuse prevention

The site runs on Vercel with a Turso database. The hosting services process requests to serve the page. This website does not require a login. Installer files are delivered through Vercel Blob. The signup and download endpoints keep a one-hour hashed request identifier to limit spam; it does not save a raw IP address in the signup database. Expired rate-limit entries are cleared during later successful submissions.

This page adds no advertising pixels, third-party analytics or externally loaded fonts. Product illustrations and screenshots use fictional demo data.

The desktop app

The desktop app stores company records locally by default. Optional external AI providers or connectors may receive selected authorized context when enabled. Desktop and cloud workspaces are separate, with no automatic device sync.
